Chocolate Chip Cookies (and all its variations)

"Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies" - Uses instant espresso coffee powder

"David Lebovitz's Salted Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie"
VERDICT: These were good cookies but don't bake up well in small scoops. I think a bigger scoop would produce a more attractive cookie.

"Chocolate Chip Cookies with a Dirty Secret" - Uses shortening, white vinegar and malted milk powder

"Baking Illustrated's Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie"

"Colossal Chocolate Chip Cookies"
VERDICT: These cookies were delicious and I would make them again and again. They came out beautifully. They were thick and chewy with good edges. Bake them for a shorter amount of time than what your gut tells you and you won't be sorry, as they tend to get a bit cakey.

"Alton Brown's 'The Chewy' Chocolate Chip Cookie" - Uses bread flour instead of all purpose
VERDICT: Due to the crappy nature of the oven in the apartment, these are very unattractive cookies. They taste good, but the looks are lacking. The dough starts out very soft and needs to be refrigerated for a good few hours before it is workable.
